Ageless Yoga Programs – Rockingham

“Ageless Yoga Programs” from Sri Shanthi Bhavana Yoga Wellness are designed primarily for older people, and people with disabilities, limited range-of-motion, limited flexibility, or people suffering or recovering from illness, injury or medical conditions (rehabilitation), and a great way for most seniors to enjoy a gentle fitness, health and wellness activity that is grounded in the ancient art and science of traditional healing Yoga (Cikitsa).

This Yoga is Therapeutic and rehabilitative as well as being a great daily fitness practice and health and wellness lifestyle.
* This program is 100% Approved by the IICT (International Institute for Complementary Therapists).
* Recommended by WA medical professionals.
* Students and clients are often referred by medical doctors, specialists, chiropractors, physiotherapists and psychologists.

These Yoga programs build confidence, increase strength, flexibility and mobility and aid in increasing a person’s body balance (helping to prevent falls!

There are several levels of “Ageless Yoga” on offer, depending on the level of fitness of the people requiring the activity, and available at locations in Leederville/North Perth, South Perth, Melville and Rockingham.

The Yoga Programs include:

“Chair Flow Yoga” – Level 1:
This is designed for older people – very gentle, mostly seated exercise for stretching and toning muscles, expanding joints, creating more energy, and learning better breathing techniques for increased vitality, better sleep and relaxation.
Includes Mindfulness Meditation.

“Chair Flow Yoga” – Level 2:
This is designed for more active people – gentle, but more dynamic than Level 1, and includes both standing and seated movement exercise for stretching and toning muscles, expanding joints, creating more energy, and learning better breathing techniques for increased vitality, better sleep and relaxation, and correct breathing techniques for health and relaxation.
Includes Mindfulness Meditation.

“AM Vitality Hatha Yoga” – a gentle exercise for stretching and toning muscles, expanding joints, creating more energy, and learning better breathing techniques for increased vitality, better sleep and relaxation. An invigorating and rejuvenating morning Yoga practice.
Increase energy with moderate stretches and basic yoga postures and dynamic movement, strengthen the body, increase and support lower back.
A beautiful balance of standing and floor routines, movement, dynamic flow and relaxing restorative postures, with Mindfulness Meditation.

“PM Restorative Hatha Yoga” – a gentle, deeply relaxing Yoga practice on the floor, using a yoga mat and other yoga props (bolsters, blocks, blankets, belts and chairs).
Relax and feel the tension release from your core, shoulders, hips, lower back, neck, spine and legs. Rejunenate and re-invigorate your whole being.
The whole practice is grounded in Mindfulness Meditation.

“Private One-on-One Therapeutic Yoga”:
This Restorative Therapeutic Yoga is designed to help the individual who may be suffering from debilitating pain, illness, injury or medical conditions, and who are unable to attend a group class.
It includes intentional healing breath techniques (pranayama), and the whole practice is grounded in Mindfulness Meditation.

Sri Shanthi Bhavana (CYT) is an internationally Certified Yoga Teacher (IICT), Meditation Teacher, and Therapist, specialising in Therapeutic Yoga for older populations. He has designed these “Ageless Yoga” programs specifically for seniors and those who need rehabilitative Therapy Yoga.
