Strength for Life – Rockingham

We are an ageing population and we want to help everyone move towards their best quality of life, which is why we’ve partnered with the Strength for Life program to run progressive strength training and group fitness classes to our over 50s.

Led by our physiotherapists and exercise physiologists, these classes are safe, fun and social and are designed to assist in conditions such as arthritis, bone density/osteoporosis, cardiovascular function, balance, mobility, cognitive function and overall wellbeing.

Strength for Life – Murdoch

Strength for LifeTM (formerly known as Living Longer Living Stronger) is an evidence based progressive strength training and exercise program designed specifically for the over 50’s operating in Western Australia since 2004. Progressive strength training has been shown to have a huge impact on wellbeing and quality of life. We provide a safe, fun and personalised sessions in approved facilities by expert trainers!

Infinite Youth Qiqong Willeton

Infinite Youth Qiqong is an exercise which is simple to learn but very effective to improve overall health of your body, mind and soul. This exercise is suitable for all ages and involves simple steps of deep breathing, body stretching and power jogging.

The practice is conducted for approximately 1.45 hours every morning at three convenient sites by the qualified trainers – SoR at Willetton Sports Club, NoR at Stirling Civic Garden and Central at Burswood Park. First session is one hour of dynamic Qigong and then another 45 minutes of static (yoga) Qigong.

Movement Classes with the Feldenkrais Method

Participants are verbally guided to perform various movements in a methodical and step-by-step manner that are designed to improve flexibility, coordination, balance and other capabilities. Suitable for mature people who wish to expand their mobility or ease into activity or self-manage their pain and discomfort. Individual lessons are also available.

Exergaming

Our Exergaming group offers light exercise to improve your balance and hand-eye coordination, with a friendly group to cheer you on. You don’t need to be tech savvy to have a go and to have a great deal of fun while using your body and your brain in a wide range of interactive games.

Please note that places are limited so bookings are essential.

Chair Yoga

Yoga has been shown to increase strength and balance and helps reduce the risk of falls.

Chair yoga uses a chair for stability to achieve the yoga poses while having the same health benefits.

Added benefits include flexibility, reduced stress and social interaction.

Facilitated by an accredited Yoga instructor it is a fun and gentle way to achieve great health results.

Exercise Right for Active Ageing: Group exercise for over 65’s- Osborne Park

Exercise Right for Active Ageing is designed to help over 65’s to get moving in a safe and social environment, tailored to all ability levels.

Over 12 weeks, our trained exercise physiologists will take you through a range of exercises and activities to enhance your strength, coordination and general fitness levels in a safe, fun and interactive environment.
