Falls Prevention in Older Adults with Diabetes Webinar

December 3 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Free

Older adults with diabetes have an increased rate of falls and are more likely to have falls-related complications, including recurrent falls and increased rate of fracture, than those without diabetes. Falls can significantly impact social and physical activities, quality of life and lead to fear of further falling in older adults.  Identifying and addressing modifiable risk factors for falls in older adults with diabetes and the coordination of appropriate falls prevention interventions could help to reduce falls risk.

Join Injury Matters, for the ‘Falls prevention in older adults with diabetes’ webinar. A presentation will be provided by Dr Claudia Meyer, Research Fellow at the Bolton Clarke Research Institute.

The webinar aims to:

  • Increase knowledge of falls risk factors in older adults with diabetes.
  • Increase confidence to assess and identify falls-related risk factors in older adults with diabetes.
  • Increased knowledge of falls prevention interventions for older adults with diabetes.
  • Increase confidence to support older adults with diabetes in falls prevention
