Meet Annette!

Annette began volunteering as a Stay On Your Feet® peer educator in early 2014 after retiring from her career in nursing. She is passionate about her community, family (she is a very proud grandmother) and keeping active.

We asked Annette a few questions to find out a little more about her….

 

Where do you most want to travel, but have never been?   India.

What is your favourite sports team?   Green faction at Secret Harbour Primary School.

What is your favourite time of the year?   Spring.

If you could master one skill you don’t have right now, what would it be?   Playing the piano.

What inspires you to volunteer?   The opportunity and privilege to continue making a difference in my community.

What do you most enjoy about volunteering?   The ongoing learning and meeting new people.

 

Meet Peter!

Peter began volunteering as a Stay On Your Feet® peer educator in early 2017 after retiring from his career as a Pharmacist.

Peter is passionate about helping others to improve their quality of life.

We asked Peter a few questions to find out a little more about him….

 

Where do you most want to travel, but have never been?   Israel.

What is your favourite sports team?   Australian Diamonds Netball team.

What is your favourite time of the year?   Autumn, because Summer is gone.

If you could master one skill you don’t have right now, what would it be?   Debating.

What inspires you to volunteer?   Spread the benefit of causes I think are important for quality of life.

What do you most enjoy about volunteering?   Meeting people with the challenge of improving their lifestyle, and enjoyment.

 

Meet Jenny!

Jenny began volunteering as a Stay On Your Feet® peer educator in mid 2012 after retiring from her career as a lecturer and unit coordinator in health promotion at Curtin University. She is a passionate golfer and loves adventures, even going skydiving for a recent birthday.

Where do you most want to travel, but have never been?   I would like to go to South America and Cuba.

What is your favourite sports team?   West Coast Eagles.

What is your favourite time of the year?   Autumn.

If you could master one skill you don’t have right now, what would it be?   Play the clarinet.

What inspires you to volunteer?   A chance to give back to a society that has been very good to me.

What do you most enjoy about volunteering?   Meeting and chatting to people from all backgrounds.
